Facebook New Look for News Feed

Time has come, after the timeline update, to redesign the News Feed page to follow the same design. The new design is almost done, and will very soon be available to everyone, and it is already in beta testing in New Zealand.

Someone from New Zealand was kind enough to make some snapshots with the new look that the News Feed has.

Shared stories

Shared stories in the new Timeline are also a little interesting. When you share a link to a website, a like button for that site will appear below your post, encouraging your friends to Like the publication if they enjoy the content.

New Toolbar

The redesigned Timeline changes the top of the page in particular, removing the photo tiles for Friends and Photos, and moving Map and Subscriber information lower on the page.

Navigation Up Top

Timeline navigation will be on the top right of the page while now you see ads in that spot.

Divide and Conquer

Left side of the screen has the App Updates and Likes and the Status Updates are in the middle.

Take Note

The Notes are more obvious now, encourage you to use them.

About Me

The widget containg the "About Me" info has been moved also, and is located underneath your profile picture.

9 Lives

Following Instagram's example there are now nine square photos in the left side, sowing 9 of your friends.

Sponsored Stories

Sponsored ads had been moved underneath the Timeline Navigation located in the right column of the site.
